What others say about working with Lindsey

The measure of any consultancy is the difference it makes to the people it works with. Here is what colleagues, managers and sector leaders have said about working with Lindsey Knight and The Nurturing Edge.

Lindsey was truly inspirational to work with. Opportunities to work alongside someone who demonstrates such genuine, consistent, and committed care for the outcomes and futures of young people are rare. She places young people at the centre of everything she does, advocating for them passionately and ensuring that their voices, wellbeing, and long term life chances remain the priority in all decision making. Her pride in the work and in achieving meaningful, positive outcomes for young people is clear and has been inspiring to witness. This same care and commitment extend to her team. Lindsey shows a natural and authentic ability to nurture, support, and develop staff, taking the time to understand individuals and adapt her approach to bring out the best in them. Her leadership style is compassionate, reflective, and empowering, creating an environment where both young people and staff feel valued and motivated. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and I have genuinely enjoyed working with her.

I wanted to take a moment to offer my sincere thanks as you reach your final day with Sheffield City Council Children and Families. Your support for secure children's homes has been both consistent and distinctive. In a system that can often feel complex and at times distant from operational realities, your willingness to actively seek insight, to understand the challenges, and to engage meaningfully with the sector has set you apart. That approach has not gone unnoticed and has been genuinely valued. From my perspective as Chair of the Secure Accommodation Network, and equally on a personal level, it has been a privilege to work alongside you. You have brought clarity, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose to your role. You have not only been a significant asset to Sheffield and Aldine secure home, but your influence has extended well beyond the local authority. The way you have carried your values, your standards, and your commitment to doing the right thing for children and young people has left a lasting impression on me. While it is difficult to see someone of your enthusiasm move on, I have no doubt that whatever comes next, you will excel. Your principles are your strength, and I would encourage you to hold firmly to them, as they are what makes your leadership both credible and impactful.

I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment. Your passion for improving outcomes for children and young people has truly made a lasting impact, and it has not gone unnoticed. You have led with integrity, vision and compassion, always keeping the needs of our children at the heart of everything. The positive changes and progress across the service are a reflection of your hard work and determination. On a personal note, thank you for your support, encouragement, and always being on the other side of the phone. It has been a privilege to work alongside you and be part of the journey you have helped shape.

I wanted to say how truly grateful I am for everything you have done for our home, for the team, the kids and for me. You believed in me and in what I can do. You are different from other managers. You care. You think about children, about their future.
